MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING VIOLENT OFFENCES IN HEDNESFORD

A man has been charged with a number of offences after a man was stabbed and a woman was assaulted in Hednesford.

Andre Hancox, 28, of Birmingham, has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent, assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a knife in a public place.

It comes after officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Green Heath Road at 10.50am on Sunday (22 February).

The man was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The woman was not seriously injured.

Hancox is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Monday 23 February).
